About
The independent Desaru guide, written for Singapore families.
Desaru is one of the easiest short escapes from Singapore — and one of the most over-sold. The official channels push the gated resorts; the booking platforms push tickets. We built Visit Desaru to be the honest editor in the middle: the guide that covers Desaru both inside and outside the master-planned Coast, and tells you what’s actually worth your time and money.
We’re not affiliated with anyone
We’re not the official Desaru Coast site and no resort owns or pays us. That independence is the whole point — it’s why we can tell you the public beach is free, which resort is over-priced for what you get, and where the locals actually eat.
How we research
Every price, time and fact comes from the operators’ own sites and reputable sources, and we mark prices as indicative with a “verify before you go” note — ferry fares, ticket prices and green fees all change. Where we can’t confirm something, we say so rather than guess.
Honest by default
We don’t invent details to sound authoritative. When a photo is a stand-in rather than the actual place, we say so on the page. When a section isn’t finished, we tell you. We’d rather be useful and honest than polished and wrong.
Who it’s for
Mainly Singapore families planning a first (or fifth) Desaru trip — the people weighing ferry versus the drive, the Westin versus Hard Rock, a resort weekend versus a day at the free beach. If that’s you, start with getting there, where to stay, or things to do.
Spotted something out of date or wrong? We genuinely want to know — accuracy is the whole job. Photo credits and licences are listed on our attributions page.
