You don’t need a long list for Desaru — you need the right few. Here’s everything we’d actually send a first-time Singapore family to, with the honest verdict on each. The biggest draws sit inside Desaru Coast (the waterpark, golf); the best-value ones are outside the gates (the free beach, the farms, the seafood).

Frequently asked questions

What is there to do in Desaru?

The headline draws are the long public beach (free), the Adventure Waterpark inside Desaru Coast, and two family farms — the fruit farm and the ostrich farm — just outside the gates. There’s also championship golf at The Els Club. Most families fill a weekend easily with two or three of these plus beach and pool time.

Is Desaru good for a family with young kids?

Yes — it’s one of the easiest short family breaks from Singapore. The waterpark has shallow zones and a lazy river, the farms are hands-on (feeding, petting, ostrich rides), and the resort beaches are calmer than the open public beach for little ones.

How many days do you need in Desaru?

A weekend (2 days, 1 night) covers the highlights — one day for the waterpark or beach, one for a farm and some pool time. Add a night if you also want a round of golf or a slower pace.
